You are absolutely right that responsibility is actually a very rewarding thing to do. People who don't accept responsibility often seem less happy.

This was exactly what I needed to hear today. This weekend my adult son was drinking and driving and caused an accident. No one was hurt, thank goodness, but he needed $3,000 to get his car out of impound. He has a history of substance abuse and we refused to give him the money. I feel HORRIBLE about it but my husband was adamant. Listening to you talk about responsibility makes me feel better that we made the right decision and that my son needs to learn about the consequences of his actions.
